Sally Frampton

Sally Frampton is Humanities and Healthcare Fellow at the University of Oxford and an East Oxford resident. She has written extensively in the field of the history of medicine. Her current book project is on the cultural history of first aid and lifesaving. Sally leads Oxford Health Histories.

Paula Larsson

Paula Larsson is the Operational Director of Uncomfortable Oxford, and a researcher at the University of Oxford on the history of vaccination and vaccine hesitancy. She is currently completing a monograph on the history of Anti-Vaccination movements in Canada. Paula leads on Uncomfortable Oxford's work on the project.

Lunan Zhao

Lunan Zhao is a doctor based in Toronto and previously studied English Literature (Postcolonial and 20th century) at the University of Oxford. (edited). Lunan works on the Drugs strand of the project.

Olivia Durand

Olivia Durand is a historian and the R&D Director of Uncomfortable Oxford, working on decolonizing history education and supporting the development of teaching worksheets for OHH. She writes of diaspora, migration, and empire, and is completing a monograph on comparative settler colonialism.

Chloe Williams

Chloe Williams is an Mst student in Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies at the University of Oxford and previously earned their History BA from the University of Oxford. Chloe works on the Drugs strand of the project.

Zaiba Patel

Zaiba's research focuses on school history education, specifically how engaged pedagogies may support a process of decolonising and work to strengthen young people’s sense of belonging. Zaiba received a BA in History and Political Science from the University of Birmingham. She then completed a PGCE in secondary history and an MSc in Learning and Teaching at the University of Oxford. Zaiba created the Oxford Health Histories worksheets.

Kati is a freelance illustrator and graphic designer specialising in history, heritage and culture-driven projects working with historians, universities, charities and cultural institutions. Kati's main areas of work are maps, website illustration and poster design. Kati leads on the website's design.

Mori Reithmayr

Mori Reithmayr is a postdoctoral fellow at the Rothermere American Institute, Oxford. They are currently working on their first book project, a history of the invention and early life of US ideas of gay community. They worked as a research assistant for the Oxford Health Histories project, where they revised materials relating to student mental health histories and wrote on the connections of student mental health and homosexuality in 1950s Oxford.

Molly Wilson

Molly Wilson is an MSc student in the History of Science, Medicine and Technology at the University of Oxford, focusing on the history of 20th century psychiatry. She previously earned her history BA from the University of Leicester, with her dissertation focusing on Nazi psychiatry. Molly is researching of St Hugh's Military Hospital.

Dr Yewande Okuleye

Yewande’s creative critical research praxis is informed by her disciplinary background in science, fine art, history of medicine, and health humanities. Yewande uses poetry, spoken word, and literature to reveal and recover overlooked, misrepresented, and forgotten histories. She has written and performed her poetry within academic spaces, conferences, and on the BBC. During her Poetry-in-Residency, Yewande used a range of sources to ‘get under the skin’ of the multi-layered complexities of the personal, collective, and institutional narratives of mental health in Oxford.

Amy Moore

Amy recently completed her PhD with a thesis on "Oxford, Town Crown and People, 1575-1640". Her research focused on political and community involvement in city governance in Oxford. It examined topics such as poverty and moral reform, shedding light on how marginalised groups such as women, Catholics, and the poor were able to participate in city politics and make their voices heard. In the past, Amy worked in frontline services, providing support for individuals with complex needs such as mental health issues, learning difficulties, and substance misuse.

John Hall

Dr John Hall has a PhD in clinical psychology from Leeds University and a MA in the History of Medicine from Oxford Brookes University. From 1980 he was Head Clinical Psychologist for Oxfordshire, and he has written widely in the fields of the care of people with long-term mental health problems, and planning mental health services. From 2002 he was Visiting Professor of Mental Health at Brookes, and is currently Senior Research Affiliate in their Centre for Medical Humanities. John is an adviser to the project.

Lucy Barrell

Lucy Barrell is Archivist for Oxfordshire Health Archives (2016 – present) bringing together medical and health-based archival collections under the Public Records Act (1958). The archives include material relating to Oxfordshire hospitals (both pre and post the National Health Service) and associated administrative bodies, Leagues of Friends and Nurses’ Alumni organisations. It is an integral historical resource for anyone undertaking research projects in Oxfordshire on the themes of medicine and health.
